When we bought our land in 2008, the previous owner told us that most of the fruit trees in the orchard were too old and actually had to be uprooted. We have, for some years, had a lot of fun and picked many apples and produced homemade apple juice. But we also saw that it was time to remove the trees.
Also in Portugal is a regulation that, as owner of the land, you must ensure that the vegetation is wild and not too high. You also need to ensure that the houses are mowed around well, all for the forest fire prevention.
In a few days it was cleared a large part of the orchard and they mowed the grass. Only the pear trees (Pera Rocha) were spared, we leave them behind the pool.
Now think of a plan what to do with a piece of land of about 10.000 sqm. We waite to recommended a good idea!
