Warm through the winter.

In Portugal, public buildings, schools and pasteleria`s are not heated in the winter. When the sun shines, windows and doors stand wide open and children are sitting in the coldest period with jackets and ties in the classroom, it is often warmer outside than inside. read more

Our plumtree

Every year in the first weeks of July are the plums ripe from our old plum tree beside the cottage "Casinha Branco". The bright yellow plums  bear simply the name "Ameixa Amarelo" (yellow plum) and we get every year to 30 pounds from this tree. read more

Loomen in B&B Quinta Verde

The summer of 2014 we labeled the year of the "loomen." All the children who came to our B&B to spend their holidays brought it with them: the little plastic rubber bands where they made artfully bracelets, dolls and bags. read more

1st anniversary

In early June 2014 we celebrated our 1st anniversary: B & B Quinta Verde Existed then 5 years, we have celebrated that day with Portuguese cakes and bubbles with our guests. We were surprised by our guests and got two beautiful planters that now adorn our kitchen entrance. read more

Modern architecture in Lisbon

Last we went for a day out at the Parque das Nações in Lisbon, the former site of the world fair. The 1998 Expo, is located on the banks of the Tagus River with a magnificent view on the other side of the river and the Vasco da Gama bridge, the longest bridge in Europe. read more
